Another hot day for Delhi, even minimum temperature climbs to 34.3 degree Celsius

New DelhiThere was no let-up in the heat wave conditions in Delhi today as mercury remained above normal level and minimum temperature shot up to a new high this season.

The minimum climbed to 34.3 degree Celsius, the highest this season, during the dark hours, leaving Delhiites sleepless.

Delhi, in a way, experienced the hottest day and hottest night uninterrupted as Thursday recorded maximum temperature of 45.4 degree Celsius, followed by today's highest minimum which was seven degrees above normal.

Today, the maximum climbed down a little to 44.4 degree Celsius, four degrees below normal, but it did not provide much relief due to a scorching sun and hot winds.

As predicted by the weatherman yesterday, the day temperature may fall further tomorrow. The Met has predicted the maximum temperature may further climb down to 43 degrees Celsius tomorrow while the minimum could be around 32 degrees.

"It could be a partly cloudy sky tomorrow. There could be dust haze, dust storm or thunderstorm towards evening or night. The temperature could be between 32 and 43 degree Celsius," a MeT official said.

The city has been witnessing a heat wave in the past few days.

Earlier on May 10 and 11, the city had recorded a maximum of 42.6 degree Celsius while on May 25, the maximum was at 44 degrees, the previous highs of this season.
