New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal and other leaders of his Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today met with Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and asked him to withdraw his letter to the President recommending that the BJP, as the single largest party, should be invited to form government in Delhi.

The party also gave Mr Jung a CD of a "sting" operation that it says shows a BJP leader, Sher Singh Dagar, offering its legislator Dinesh Mohaniya four crores to switch sides.

NDTV cannot independently verify the video or its contents.

AAP says the 17-minute video is proof of its allegation that the BJP is trying to coax opposition legislators with the offer of money and posts.

"The BJP has been in touch with 15 of our legislators," Mr Kejriwal alleged yesterday. The BJP's Sanjay Kaul retorted, "You cannot buy what is not on sale. If people are willing to leave AAP as they are insecure about their future, they will certainly negotiate with other parties."

The BJP, along with its allies, has 29 members in the Delhi assembly and needs five more for a majority. AAP has gone to the Supreme Court to try and prevent the BJP from forming a government.

On Tuesday, the BJP government at the Centre told the court that the process of government formation had started with the Lieutenant Governor's recommendation.

The BJP told the court that it was waiting for an invitation and would then decide on forming government.

The top court then told the Centre to "take steps at the earliest or horse-trading will continue."

Mr Kejriwal has said he will give a copy of the 'sting' CD to President Pranab Mukherjee and also take it to the people. "If they (the BJP) try to take power by unscrupulous means, we will expose them at an appropriate time," he said.
