Rajesh Khanna's Bandra home, Aashirwad, has become the subject of a bitter dispute between his family and his reported live-in partner, Anita Advani of eight years. Soon after Mr Khanna died, Anita Advani reportedly sent the Khanna clan a legal notice in order to safeguard against her possible eviction from Aashirwad.
However, she seems to have taken a U-turn now. She told reporters today, "I want Aashirwad to be turned into a museum because Kaka wanted so. Aashirwad belongs to the public and I have no interest in the property."
Initial reports claimed that Anita had placed herself as an obstacle between Rajesh Khanna's family and their wish to convert Ashirwad into a museum dedicated to the late star by refusing to move out.
Ms Advani denied these claims today saying, "These are all lies."
Mr Khanna died at home in Mumbai on July 18, 2012. He was 69 and had been battling cancer.
