New Delhi: A day after BJP national president Amit Shah asked state leaders to work at the booth level to ensure a "historic victory" in the upcoming Assembly elections, the Delhi unit of the party held several meetings on Tuesday to discuss preparations for the polls in Delhi.

Taking stock of poll preparations, BJP senior leaders Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Rajiv Pratap Rudy also held a meeting with state party leaders, MPs and MLAs this evening and asked them to prepare a blueprint of election programmes to be carried out by the party in the next few days.

In the meeting which lasted for around 15 minutes, Mr Naqvi and Mr Rudy asked South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri to coordinate with MPs on how they will carry out meetings and 'nukkad sabhas' during campaigning.

"Bidhuri has been asked to coordinate between party MPs in organising election meetings and nukkad sabhas. The two leaders have also asked Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay to immediately start work on what Mr Shah directed them in yesterday's meeting," said a senior BJP leader.

On Monday, Amit Shah directed the Delhi unit of the party to start a "massive" campaign focusing on over 11,000 booths to ensure a "historic victory" in the upcoming Assembly polls.

Chairing a meeting to take stock of the BJP's preparation for the upcoming polls, he told senior leaders to hit the ground in overseeing the preparations for the elections and asked

Mr Upadhyay to task around 150 leaders to specifically oversee party's work at the booth level.

A senior Delhi BJP leader said Mr Shah also asked the party unit to start a door-to-door campaign from November 20-30 to garner support of every section of the society.
