Jammu and Kashmir Polls: Over 3,000 Kashmiri Pandits Registered Voters in First Phase

Jammu: As many as 3,441 Kashmiri Pandit voters will exercise their franchise through ballot papers in the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls tomorrow.

Five Assembly segments in Kashmir Valley will go to polls in the first phase of elections on November 25 along with nine other constituencies of Jammu and Ladakh regions.

A total of 10,502,50 voters, including 5,49,698 men and 5,00,539 women, will decide the fate of 12 sitting MLAs, including seven ministers among 123 candidates at 1,900 polling stations in 15 constituencies tomorrow.

According to the data of state elections department, 3,441 Kashmiri Pandits are registered voters for tomorrow's polling in four out of five Assembly segments of Bandipora and Ganderbal districts of Kashmir Valley.

Of these, highest number of 1,597 Kashmiri Pandit voters are registered in two Assembly segments of Bandipora district and 1,844 such voters are registered in two Assembly segments in Ganderbal district.

Giving further details, the data revealed that there are 1,349 Kashmiri Pandit voters registered in Bandipora constituency followed by 203 in Sonawari in Bandipora district, 852 voters in Kangan and 992 voters in Ganderbal constituency.

There are no Kashmiri Pandit voters registered in Gurez constituency of Bandipora district, it said.
