Jammu and Kashmir: 175 Candidates Left in Fray for Second Phase Assembly Polls

Jammu: A total of 175 candidates are left in fray for 18 assembly constituencies spread over five districts in Jammu and Kashmir as the last date of withdrawal of nominations for the second phase of assembly polls in the state ended today.

"On the last day of withdrawal of the nominations for the second phase of assembly elections for which polling is scheduled to be held on December 2, 175 candidates are left in the fray for the 18 constituencies in the five districts of Kupwara, Kulgam, Reasi, Udhampur and Poonch," an official spokesman said in Jammu today.

He said that eight candidates today withdrew their nominations from different constituencies.

In Karnah assembly constituency, seven candidates are left in fray while in Kupwara 12, Lolab nine, Handwara 12, Langate 11, Noorabad 15, Kulgam eight, HumshaliBugh eight, Devsar eight, Gulabgarh seven, Reasi 14, Gool Arnas 10, Udhampur 10, Chenani (SC) seven, Ramnagar six, Surankote 10, Mendhar 11 and in Haveli 10 candidates are left, he said.
