Teacher Alleges 2 Including Andhra Minister's Son Misbehaved With Her

A 20-year-old teacher today alleged that two persons, including son of an Andhra Pradesh minister, misbehaved with her.

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old teacher today alleged that two persons, including son of an Andhra Pradesh minister, misbehaved with her in Banjara Hills.

However, according to police the name of any minister's son is not mentioned in the complaint lodged by the teacher.

In her complaint lodged with Banjara Hills police, the woman alleged that a car with 'MLA' sticker followed her when she was passing through Road No.13 while on her way to school yesterday.

The complainant alleged that the driver of the car and other occupants passed remarks and asked her to come inside the car while one person with a tattoo on his hand tried to pull her inside the vehicle.

However, the woman raised the alarm following which her husband and some locals gathered at the spot and beat them up. A counter complaint was lodged after they were beaten up.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) A Venkateshwera Rao said there is no mention of the name of minister's son in the complaint.

Based on her complaint that two persons, including one Appa Rao, misbehaved with her, a case was registered under section 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC against Appa Rao, the DCP said.

"We are investigating... It has to be ascertained who the second person is and we will proceed accordingly," he said.

The woman, however, told local TV channels that two persons, including Mr Rao, followed her in a car.

She said they were drunk and asked her to come and sit inside the car.

The woman also claimed to have identified the photo of the minister's son as the one who held her hand and tried to pull her inside the car.

Meanwhile, residents of the area demanded immediate registration of a case against the minister's son and his arrest. They also threatened to hold a demonstration in front of the police station if their demands are not met.
