  • Social media points out resemblance to iconic shot from film Baahubali
Visakhapatnam: In neck-deep water, a worried father in Andhra Pradesh carried his baby girl holding her high above his head to reach a doctor. An eyewitness' photograph of the pair on Tuesday resembles a publicity still for the blockbuster movie "Baahubali" which showed actor Ramya Krishna holding a baby above swirling water.

30-year-old Pangi Satti Babu was desperate to get medical help for his six-month-old daughter who was running a high fever. Large parts of Visakakaptnam, where they live, are routinely submerged in water whenever it rains heavily. This week was no exception.

The photo of the father (left) drew attention for its similarities with a poster of the 2015 blockbuster Baahubali.

Satti Babu trekked first through the water and then over five kilometres on land to get to the nearest state-run primary health centre where a doctor was available. The baby, who has not yet been named, is recovering after being given medicines.

The photo posted on Facebook by a social activist to highlight the inaccessibility of several parts of the country to healthcare even in an emergency. It's also being circulated because it mirrors the iconic shot from "Baahubali."
