Andhra Pradesh Engineer Arrested For Possessing Assets Worth Rs 1.75 Crore

Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths today unearthed disproportionate assets worth Rs 1.75 crore belonging allegedly to an Executive Engineer of Andhra Pradesh government.

Vidya Sagar, who was attached to Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) Department, has been put under arrest, the ACB said.

Details of the assets allegedly owned by him were uncovered during searches conducted by the anti-graft agency in Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam, it said.

On credible information, a case of disproportionate assets was registered against Mr Sagar and simultaneous searches were conducted at his residences at Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam, said Lakshmi Pathi, DSP of the ACB.

During the searches, details of two plots and three flats worth over Rs 1.75 crore owned by the engineer were unearthed, the DSP said.

He was arrested and will be produced in the Visakhapatnam ACB Court tomorrow, the DSP added.
