Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Invites Chinese Industrialists to Invest in State

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is on a visit to China, today said a special desk would be set up for the benefit of Chinese investors who wish to invest in the state.

Mr Naidu, who spoke at a round-table conference with industrialists in Chengdu of Sichuan Province, said substantial land bank and attractive incentives are being offered for investors.

Beside incentives, Andhra Pradesh is known is for industrial peace, skill development and also a good labour policy, a statement from Chief Minister Office (CMO) quoted Mr Naidu as saying.

The Chief Minister mentioned that he has brought in transparent administration leading to rapid clearances.

Observing that a great opportunity to build a world class capital named 'Amaravathi' is available to the state government, he said Singapore and Japan are already involved in the process and that China can also join the efforts.

Stating that India grew at 7.4 per cent and is moving towards double-digit growth, he emphasised on creating a win-win situation for both the countries.

In his welcome address, Ambassador of India to the People's Republic of China Ashok K Kantha stressed on chief minister's objective to foster closer political relationship between India and China and introduced the AP government's agenda for the development of the state.

In the meeting, he picked out to four key reasons that makes AP as an investment destination, which included amicable Indo-Sino relations, opportunities India has to offer, special advantages that the state holds.

He also pointed out at the scope of comprehensive co-operation between Sichuan and India in sectors like education, agriculture, IT and construction.

Yang Xingping, Vice Chairman of Sichuan Provincial People's Political Consultative Conference talked about the importance Sichuan holds in China.

He added Sichuan emerged as the first choice for foreign investment in China.

Stating that India and China are complimentary economies, Xingping hoped that Mr Naidu's visit will open a new chapter in the relationship.

After the round table meeting with Chinese business leaders, AP delegation met Mayor of Sichuan Tang Liangzhi.

The mayor briefed the delegation about the demographic marvel of Chengdu and said they would like to explore opportunities and do business in the Indian state.
