Internet, a bicycle and an Indo-Pak love story

Amritsar: A man's quest to find his Pakistani lover landed him in trouble when he was caught by personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) today while trying to pedal his way across the International Border.

25-year-old Arwinder Kumar, a resident of Farouqabad in Uttar Pradesh, had cycled all the way from his hometown to Amritsar to cross the border and meet his Lahore-based lover whom he had met through the internet, said DIG BSF Pankaj.

Kumar was caught by the 41st battalion of the BSF in Rorawali village.

During interrogation, it was found Kumar did not have mandatory travel documents, including a passport and visa.

Arwinder said he had fallen in love with a Pakistani girl through the internet and did not have the patience to wait to do the paperwork for his travel documents.

He possessed only a mobile phone, some clothes and Rs 350 when he was apprehended, said the DIG.

"Arwinder will be handed over to Punjab Police tomorrow for violating the Indian Passport Act," he said.
