Nissan Motor Co. on Tuesday launched multi-purpose vehicle Evalia at a starting price of Rs. 8.49 lakh, ex-Delhi. The top-end model will cost Rs. 9.99 lakh.
Nissan Motor Co. on Tuesday launched multi-purpose vehicle Evalia at a starting price of Rs. 8.49 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. The top-end model will cost Rs. 9.99 lakh.
The MPV, which will be available in four variants, all diesel, will be powered by Renault's 1.5-litre K9K dCi engine, which can churn out 85 bhp of power along with maximum torque of 200 Nm. The engine is mated with a five-speed manual transmission gearbox.
The seven-seater will compete with the Toyota Innova, Maruti Suzuki's Ertiga and Mahindra Xylo.
Japan's Nissan and French car maker Renault have been in a strategic alliance since 1999 and control six brands.
Production of the MUV has already begun at Nissan's manufacturing facility in Chennai.
Speaking at the launch, Nissan Motor Co Corporate vice president, Africa, Middle East and India, Toru Hasegawa, said the company will launch 10 new models in India by 2015-16, including the Datsun brand.
